Menentukan Biloks (Bilangan Oksidasi)

1. Tentukan biloks unsur yang sudah tetap
- Logam IA = (+1) yaitu (Li, Na, K)
- Logam IIA = (+2) yaitu (Be, Ca, Mg)
- Logam IIIA= (+3) yaitu (Al)
- Flour (F) = -1
2. Tentukan Biloks umum
- H = +1 dan O = -2
- Halogen = (-1) yaitu (F, Cl. Br, I)
3. Baru Tentukan Biloks unsur yang ditanyakan,
- Total Biloks senyawa = 0
- Total Biloks Senyawa ion = muatannya

Contoh:

A. Tentukan Bilok unsur-unsur dalam K2Cr2O7
Langkahnya adalah:
1. Biloks K = 2 x (+1) = +2
2. Biloks O = 7 x (- 2) = -14
Jumlah = -12
3. Biloks 2 atom Cr = +12 (total = 0)
Maka Biloks Cr = +6 (dibagi 2)

B. Tentukan biloks unsur-unsur pada NaClO4
Langkah-langkah :
1. Biloks Na = 1
2. Biloks O = 4 x (-2) = -8
Jumlah = -7
3. Bilok Cl = +7 (total = 0)

C. Tentukan Biloks Unsur-unsur pada ion MnO4-
Langkah-langkah :
1. tidak ada unsur pertama
2. Biloks O = 4 x (-2) = -8
Jumlah = -8
3. Biloks Mn = +7 (total = -1)

Latihan :
Dengan menggunakan urutan langkah-langkah di atas,

1. Biloks O pada Na2O = -2
